Spruing the soldiers to a wax cup to be dipped....

About halfway done with the 10 dips of slurry and sand....when I'm done we will take it to the kiln and melt out all the wax and plastic to leave a nice mold to pour bronze into.

My M4 made out of iron from a sand mold that I made (this thing is heavy and has a lot of sharp edges!) I'll be sand blasting it and smoothing down all the edges on Monday.

I am currently working on an iron, bronze and aluminum cast for my sculpture class. Using plastic army men, an M4 replica and some wooden trophy bases I will communicate the equality of ALL soldiers regardless of gender, religious beliefs, race or sexual preference. There are many labels out there that we all could do without. Soldiers must work together as a team to end this war instead of continuing a war within through discrimination. I once heard a recording of a military leader saying that his main goal was to work himself out of a job. The only way the war can end is by the hard work and cooperation of those in the military.
